Американская разведывательно-аналитическая компания Stratfor опубликовала снимки со спутника, которые, как утверждают авторы доклада, являются доказательством того, что российские военные строят в сирийском аэропорту Латакия свою авиабазу.
Снимки были получены еще 4 сентября, передает РБК со ссылкой на данный отчет.
На снимках видно, как в аэропорту возводятся две дополнительные площадки для вертолетов, а взлетно-посадочная полоса по всей длине расширяется, как отмечают аналитики, для приема тяжелой транспортной авиации.
Также на снимках видны недавно построенные вышки и здания, которые, по версии Stratfor, могут служить для размещения военнослужащих. Строительные работы ведутся во всем аэропорту, в отдельных его площадках старый асфальт был заменен на новый, следует из отчета.
В то же время, как сообщает Reuters со ссылкой на источники, власти США обвинили Россию в размещении танков в районе сирийского аэродрома.
По данным источников, Россия разместила в Сирии по меньшей мере шесть танков.
Другой американский чиновник заявил, что семь российских танков Т-90 и артиллерия были замечены на аэродроме вблизи Латакии.
